julep “lisa” with butter london “tart with a heart” on the tips
i was waaaayyy into the whole glitter french thing back in early october and early november so this swatch is waaay late! sorry guys, i thought i had posted this. maybe i did and this is just a repeat post. oh well! i didn’t love this one as much as others but it was still kinda cute
julep “eloise”
i got this in my october julep maven box but it got put on the backburner to post while i had all those halloween manicures. i like this polish, its definitely right up my alley, but i have so many dupes of this. i have a polish that is literally almost exactly the same and its $1.99 from sinful colors, so the $14 price tag kind of makes me dislike this polish. this is 2 coats.
opi “vodka and caviar” and julep loose black glitter
i painted my nails with vodka and caviar, one of my favorite reds of all time, and then dipped the tips into a pot of loose black glitter. once i added a top coat, it kind of turned the glitter into a matte glitter. i loved the way it looked! kind of creepy and dirty but i loved it
julep “alma” and opi “ski teal we drop”
i freaking love mustard yellow in the fall. i wish i owned more mustard clothing, but wearing it on my nails is something that always cheers me up! alma is the mustard color, and this is 2 coats. then i had to do an accent of teal because i think the colors look great together. this is 2 coats of ski teal we drop on the accent nail. i love this combo for fall!
tombstone nails! i wanted to try out a ruffian manicure but still make it halloween-y!
polishes used for this were julep “emilie” which is the green in the background near the cuticles, h&m “miss stone heart” for the grey tombstones, zoya “raven” for the black aging on all the tombstones and the R.I.P. then julep “leah” for the grass near the base of the tombstone. not my best work but still halloween appropriate!
black flame candle nails! i was watching hocus pocus when i had to do a witches nail art challenge. so i picked the black flame candle from the movie, and coincidentally i’m watching the movie again right now!
i started with a base of zoya “raven” which is just a black with a slight silver sheen. then i put a thick messy french of julep “lisa” and used a safety pin to drag down little pin point lines. the result looks like flames! because the black peaks through and only little lines extend upwards. i put on accents of zoya “jancyn” which is an orange, to make to more flame like. what do y’all think??
zombie nails!!
polishes used for this were color club “high society” for the beige, julep “jessica” for the light blue and china glaze “zombie zest” for the green. i sponged the blue and green all around the beige to make it look like dead flesh. then i used a tooth pick and sephora by opi “i’m with brad” to make the dried blood drops. i loved this!
ghost/demon manicure!
polishes used:
Julep “Kate” for the white, Zoya “Raven” for the black, and OPI “Vodka and Caviar” for the red. I painted my nails white and then took the black and wiped off as much as I could off the brush, then lighting ran it over the tips of the nails and the sides. Then on the ring finger, I did the same thing but did it in the shape of a man. Then wiped off the brush of the red polish and used the side to dot the eyes and do blood accents around the nails. what do you guys think??
ready for a halloween manicure spam!?!? i’ve been putting these up on my blog throughout the month and finally i’m posting them here! by the way, if you haven’t seen my blog and wanna see my manicures before i post them here, you can go to http://misshollyberries.wordpress.com
candy corn gradient manicure!
i used julep “kate” for the white, zoya “jancyn” for the orange, and zoya “creamy” for the yellow! i used a makeup sponge and sponged on the orange and yellow after the white was dry!
julep “delaunay” and china glaze “lubu heels”
if you go through the pictures here, you’ll be able to see really quickly that i have a thing for black and red nails. its probably my favorite combo! this is my brightest red in my collection now, and is totally amazing. Delaunay is opaque in 1 coat! and china glaze lubu heels is a black with red glitter. it took 3 coats to reach opacity and its hard to tell there is red glitter in it but this manicure turned out pretty cool!
watercolor nails!
i’ve done this a few times before, but this is the first with these colors! i used julep “kate” which is a white polish as the base. then i used opi “quarter of a cent cherry” (the red), zoya “shelby” (the pink) and opi “honk if you love opi” (the purple). i think it turned out pretty cool looking
julep “kate” and china glaze “ride the waves”
excuse the air bubbles in the ring finger. that is the reason this manicure didn’t last too long! but i wanted to post anyways. this was the polish i wore on labor day, since the saying goes that you shouldn’t wear white after labor day. so i figured i would wear white on labor day and get my fill in. this is 2 coats of julep kate, the white, and then 3 coats of ride the waves, the blue. and it was a lot of fun to wear!
julep “susie” and black cat lacquer “let them eat cake”
i did this manicure last weekend and i really wanted a light and fun nail for the holiday weekend. so i went with a pastel and a pastel glitter. this is 2 coats of susie which is an ultra light mint green and then 1 coat of let them eat cake which is a clear glitter with holographic glitter, white flecks, and blue, pink and green chunky glitter. amazing and totally like an easter egg
julep “charlotte” with opi “pirouette my whistle”
since i’ve worn both of these polishes recently and thought they would look so cool together. they look so pretty and girly and danty together. i think pirouette my whistle just makes any polish look so feminine. i love it and this is 1 coat of charlotte and 2 coats of the opi
